Where do you pay and do you accept credit cards?
Payment is made before departure from Vestmanna. We accept MasterCard, Dankort, JBC, Eurocard, and VISA card.
What times do you sail?
Our departures are:
- 10:30 a.m.
- 2:30 p.m.
- 4:25 p.m.

What is the best time for bird watching?
The best time of the year for bird watching is from around May 20 to August 20.
What happens if the weather is bad when we are supposed to sail?
In case of bad weather, we recommend that you call +298 42 41 55 before you leave from home to find out if we will sail on the day in question. The weather conditions in Vestmanna can be very different from the rest of the country. Therefore, you should call to make sure that the weather allows trips on the day in question.
What clothes should we wear on your trips?
As a principal rule, it is good to wear warm clothes. But if you dress according to the weather, you will do just fine. It is good to bring a cap and gloves.
Is it possible to rent the boats for private groups?
Our boats can be rented by private groups. In particular, Silja Star and Silja are well suited for longer chartered trips. You can also rent the Faroese-built boat, Frígerð for shorter trips.
Is it possible to do some fishing from your boats?
As a principal rule, fishing is possible on our trips. In case you want to fish, you must notify us in advance, preferably at the time of booking.
Is it possible to book trips on-line?
You can book on-line via our booking page or by contacting us. Moreover, it is possible to book by telephone: (00298) 23 23 60 or via fax: (00298) 42 43 83. You can also book a trip at travel agencies, hotels, and tourist information booths.
How much does it cost to join?
The prices for our trips are:
- Adult, DKr. 398,-
- Children 2-13 years, DKr. 200,-
- Children 0-2 years, DKr. 50,-
Do you sometimes see big whales and pilot whales?
We have spotted pilot whales and schools of pilot whales on several occasions. We have also seen big whales quite often. In particular, Silja with its tall fly bridge, is ideal for spotting whales from a great distance. We have, on a few occasions, been so lucky to be the first boat to spot a school of whales. In such cases, the boat gets a whale after the slaughtering.
Do you sail to other places besides Vestmannabjørgini?
We not only sail around the area of Vestmannabjørgini, but also to Mykines, Saksun, Eiði, Gjógv/Tjørnuvík, and Enniberg – yes, all around the Faroe Islands.
Do you also sail to Mykines?
It is possible to rent our boats and sail to Mykines, as long as it is arranged in advance.
Can you sail around Vestmannabjørgini all year round?
We sail around Vestmannabjørgini (the bird cliffs) all year round. However, there can be days when the weather does not allow it.
Can disabled people come on board the boats?
It is quite all right to join our trips even if you are disabled, e.g. wheelchair-bound.
Our departure pier is located approx. 15 meters from the Ferry Café. It is easy to get on board the boats from the departure pier, even for the disabled.
Can children join the boat trips?
Yes, children can join our trips. We have special life jackets for children. In case it is too cold, the children can come inside the cabin.
It is also possible to sleep on board Silja and Silja Star, if the children become tired.
